"We love going into the plough, the locals are friendly and the owners are awesome people, always have a smile, as do the other members of staff. Its children friendly has a separate area for eating, a separate TV room for the sports, a snug room and the bar area with coal fires. In the summer you can sit in the garden. Has plenty of parking too."
"I booked for a party of 8 for an evening meal. The Plough telephoned me in the afternoon to inform me that they were having problems with the beer and asking if I wished to cancel. We went and had first rate food and drink in lovely surroundings with a friendly helpful staff.."
"Cosy environment and well kept real ale.
The food we tried was of a good standard, with excellent starters and good main courses. Chips and onion rings seemed to be standard frozen catering fare."
"We had an excellent Sunday lunch in the plough. The portion size was generous without being silly and it was cooked to perfection. The veggies weren't overcooked (thankfully!) and the meat was cooked but still moist and succulent.
The staff were attentive and professional. The waitress was a little hesitant but she was fairly young and still learning the job so that's fair enough.
Parking was very easy as the car park at the back is pretty big. The outdoor seating area was also pretty huge too.
We will definitely be going back again, hopefully on a Sunday!"
"We had a long journey and we needed to stop for a rest and food before carrying on up the M1.
We decided to miss the services and decided that a pub lunch would be what was needed so we found this pub not too far off the beaten track. We had a friendly greeting and we found a table in one of the rooms we then ordered roast lamb. And a drink we had a great roast dinner and sat and relaxed before rejoining the motorway refreshed and full. I can't recommend enough so much better than the hustle and bustle of a service station with fast food v homemade food and relaxing in peace and quiet in a village pub."
"Really friendly staff. Really generous portions! Staying locally for a few days and haven't found anything on the menu that hasn't been amazing. Only problem with generous portions is I haven't had room for any of the yummy looking puddings! They need to offer take out puddings because as soon as I'm back at my B&B an hour later I'm craving one!"
"Tried this pub whilst waiting for friends arriving at nearby East Midlands Airport. . Although quiet the food was excellent. . Would highly recommend."
"Lovely village pub with great beer. The food menu is good roo with good home cooked food. Nice beer garden to relax in and friendly staff."
"Great Village pub.. Ideal location to meet if using East Midlands Airport. Saves paying Airport Parking 🅿 enjoy a meal or a drink or both then just drive the 7mins to airport to pick up."
"Food, garden , landlord, drink , dog friendly, gorgeous little hidden gem of a pub"
"Excellent village pub perfect place to stop off after and enjoy the beer garden in warmer sunnier weather"
"Lovely friendly country pub. An excellent selection of ales and great food. I heartily recommend the hand battered cod and chips!"
